Dog Days
- A Celebration of Canine Images
July 13th - August 28th 2010
at Corden-Potts Gallery
49 Geary St., Suite 211 - San Francisco
Hours: Tuesdays thru Saturdays
www.cordenpottsgallery.com
The term "dog
days" is often used to refer to the hottest, most sultry days of
summer. The expression dates back to Greek and Roman times and refers
to Sirius, the Dog Star, which was at its brightest during the hottest
months of the year.
However, since we rarely enjoy weather appropriate to the term here
in San Francisco, we decided to literally celebrate man's (and woman's)
best friend. The exhibit includes a selection of wonderful canine images
from an international roster of photographers:
Giacomo Brunelli, London, UK
Susan Burnstine, Los Angeles, CA
Mark Citret, Daly City, CA
Michael Crouser, Brooklyn, NY
Frank Espada, San Francisco
Susie Forrester, Stroudsburg PA
Alan George, San Francisco
Cig Harvey, Boston, MA
Russell Joslin, Minneapolis, MN
Bill Mattick, Berkeley, CA
Raymond Meeks, Portland, OR
Aline Smithson, Los Angeles, CA
Vee Speers, Paris, FR
Ann Texter, Georgetown, TX
Natalie Young, Los Angeles, CA
