Community Camera Project
Share Your Local Love!
We know you love where you live and we wanted to create a project that allows you to share something special about it with the Bay Area photographic community. We have created a scavenger hunt of sorts that will ultimately result in a show and we want you to be the creator of a single shot in the show!
Here’s how it works:
We have put together 41 point n shoot film cameras loaded with various types of film and instruction packs (one for every year we’ve been in business). These cameras are sealed shut with some fancy gaffers tape so please don’t try and open them up, but do feel free to add your own special touch of decoration to the camera (signatures, stickers, sharpie, but nothing that renders the camera unusable… no glitter please) as the cameras will also become part of the show. Each one of these shooting packs will be handed out to a customer who comes in requesting one. That person is responsible for a single shot from the enclosed shot list. Please do not take more than one photo, and because it’s only one photo and you only get one chance to get the shot that you want be sure to give that image some thought before popping it off. Pick an item from the shot list that really interests you and compose it the way you want, then shoot… no do-overs! Then write your name, the # of the item from the shot list you chose and the best way to contact you on the sign up sheet and cross off the item you chose from the shot list. That item is no longer an option for the next people shooting, it’s all yours. Then hand the entire pack (camera included) to a friend or a stranger and now it’s their turn… and so on. Once the last available shot has been taken (you will know it’s done because the camera will automatically rewind the roll or you won’t be able to advance the film any further) please bring the entire pack back to Looking Glass and we will take care of the rest!
Plus, as an extra incentive to get these cameras back to the store quickly, every participant from the first 3 cameras that come back will receive a little special something from us, with love!
* If you want to participate but all the cameras have already been handed out, use the forum on this website and let people know that you want a camera handed off to you!
** As always, please keep the images 'family friendly' in content. Any image deemed pornographic in nature will be automatically excluded.

Hi, I'd like to participate
Hi, I'd like to participate in the community camera project when someone has a camera they're ready to send along. I wasn't able to post in the forum either.
Thanks for letting us know!
Thanks for letting us know! We have posted to facebook that people are looking for cameras to participate. If we get any responses we will be sure to hook you up ASAP! And yes, the forum problem is being worked on as well. So sorry for the inconvenience, but thank you for bringing it to our attention!

I'd like to participate in the community camera project... anyone got a camera to hand off? (the site won't let me add a comment to the forums, where latecomers are supposed to be able to catch a piece of the community documentary action ;-) )
Hi Cheryl, are you still
Hi Cheryl, are you still looking for a camera? I have one that's ready for its next person.
