In the face of all the digitalization, platinum, palladium or salt prints are still popular with the individualists. For these and other alternative analogue printing methods, Hahnemühle introduces Hahnemühle Platinum Rag.
The natural bright white paper with a weight of 300 gsm is made of 100% cotton fibres. It is acid free and does not contain any alkaline buffering. Along with the optimised sizing, the paper allows for easy coating and clearing. “It was all about finding a formula that allows for perfect print results for the sensitive procedures. To meet the requirements of this specific market, we had the product extensively tested by experts as early as possible during the development phase,” reveals Andrea Sippel, Product Manager at Hahnemühle. Tester Christina Z. Anderson suggests: “This new paper triumphed over papers I usually use for platinum printing methods. It is smooth, crisp, firm, not very absorbent, and prints beautifully.”
Hahnemühle Platinum Rag excels with a beautiful tonal range and very deep blacks. The smooth, slightly textured surface lends the paper a pleasant feel-to-the-touch. Both sides have an excellent print quality without any noticeable difference while printing both the front and the back.
