WHO AM I?

Hello, my name is Jeff. I enjoy many hobbies such as playing billiards, taking photographs, collecting gadgets, and eating chocolate.

Important Jeff trivia: Snickers, it’s what’s for breakfast. My secret addiction comes in the form of roasted peanuts, nougat, caramel and milk chocolate.  Oh, so good with my morning cup of coffee.

I have what I call Gadgets Acquisition Syndrome (or GAS).  My father was an electronics engineer, building everything from pacemakers to televisions and computers. So naturally, I grew up surrounded by gadgets of all sorts. Now, when there is a new gadget that peaks my interest, I dive in with my all, and learn everything I can about it.

I’ve been in the camera industry for over twenty years.  I have worked in over a dozen different stores big and small. For me, there is a very rewarding feeling I get when I have helped someone who is looking for advice to help them with their photography. Even the seemingly smallest of tasks, such as installing a Crystal Touch Screen Shield makes me feel good. I also love the obscure questions, like this one: “I need a whatchamacallit for my doohickey so I can take pictures like what’s her name. Can you help me?”

MY LATEST GADGETS?

The Sony Alpha mirrorless system and the RX10 IV. My favorite fun camera is the Ricoh Theta, I like the way it captures photos/videos in a 360-degree format. My Favorite Sony full frame camera is the A7RIII. I mean, what's not to like? Which coincidentally leads me to my favorite medium format camera, the Mamiya A7II, super quiet and eye cutting sharpness.
