In The Lightroom Sessions: Focus Stacking Made Simple, Rich Seiling will guide you through the basics of this powerful technique that lets you create sharp, detail-rich images from front to back—even when a single frame just can’t do it.
Focus stacking is especially useful in macro and landscape photography, where depth of field limitations often prevent everything from being in focus. By combining multiple images, each focused at a different distance, you can create results that are both technically impressive and visually striking.
You’ll learn how to shoot your own focus stacks in the field and how to blend them using Helicon Focus software—including the best settings to use and how to retouch any problem areas. You’ll also get a hands-on look at diffraction testing, which helps you choose the sharpest aperture for your lens.
