Saturday, July 19th | 10:00am–2:00pm at the Oakland Zoo
Let your photography instincts run wild! Join Looking Glass Photo and Tamron for a one-of-a-kind photo adventure at the Oakland Zoo:Â A day of exploration, experimentation, and inspiration.
Here’s what’s included:
Zoo Admission with all-day access - you can stay as long as you like after the event ends at 2pm. (Please note, parking is not included—you should purchase a parking day pass before arriving at the zoo for the best value.)
Open Access to Tamron Lenses for Sony E, Nikon Z, and Fujifilm X Mount cameras, and there's even one option for Canon RF (click to view available Tamron lenses)
Personal guidance from Tamron’s Ben Hutchinson and our own Jen Waicukauski
Lens Swap Meetups so you can try more than one lens throughout the day
A welcoming, flexible experience—you can explore solo or connect with other participants and meander together
Whether you’re photographing a lounging lion or a Flying Fox, you’ll get to see how different lenses shape your creative vision.Â
And you’ll be doing it in a place that matters.
As one of Oakland’s most long-standing institutions, Oakland Zoo is nationally recognized as a leader in animal welfare, rescue, and conservation. Managed by the Conservation Society of California, this non-profit organization inspires and informs the community to take action for wildlife—both locally and globally. Your participation helps support a space of wonder, discovery, and purpose.
Reserve your spot today!
After you register, we’ll follow up with more event details and a lens reservation form where you can tell us your top 3 Tamron lenses you'd most like to try during your time at the Zoo. We’ll do our best to match you with your #1 pick at some point during the day, and you’ll have opportunities to try others during our scheduled lens swap meetups.
Sunday, July 20th | 11:00am–3:00pm at Looking Glass Photo
We’re opening our doors on a Sunday just for this. Whether you joined us at the zoo or are just Tamron-curious, swing by our Lens Lounge for a low-key, lens-loving hangout.
What to expect:
Hands-on demos of Tamron’s latest lenses
Q&A and photo-geek-out time with Ben from Tamron
Time to shoot around 5th Street and ask follow-up questions based on your zoo-day results
A community slideshow—submit your favorite photo taken with a Tamron lens and we’ll feature it on the big screen!
Come to share. Come to learn. Come to play. This is your chance to follow up on what worked, what didn’t, and what lens you might just fall in love with next.
