Looking Glass Advantage

A powerful 6x7 medium-format SLR kit pairing the refined Pentax 67 II body with an exceptionally wide 45mm lens for landscapes, architecture, interiors, and expansive environmental photography.

The Pentax 67 II brings the familiar handling and direct through-the-lens viewing of an SLR to the much larger 6x7 film format. Its 55 x 70mm image area produces negatives with beautiful detail, tonal depth, and substantial enlargement potential, while the sculpted grip and conventional camera controls make it more intuitive to operate than many modular medium-format systems.

This kit includes the AE Pentaprism Finder 67II, which supports aperture-priority automatic exposure in addition to metered manual and bulb operation. The camera also offers six-segment, center-weighted, and spot metering, exposure compensation, memory lock, multiple-exposure capability, and mirror lock-up. It produces ten exposures on 120 film or 21 exposures on 220 film.

The included SMC Pentax 67 45mm f/4 is an especially wide lens for the 6x7 format, with an 89-degree angle of view that makes it a natural choice for sweeping landscapes, architecture, interiors, travel, and photographs that emphasize foreground-to-background relationships. It focuses as close as 0.37 meter and accepts 82mm filters.

Condition

This Pentax 67 II camera body is in Good working condition and Fair to Good cosmetically, with visible wear consistent with regular use. The body shows scattered scratches, scuffs, rub marks, and areas of finish loss, most noticeably along the base, lower edges, corners, film-advance lever, prism housing, and other frequently handled surfaces. The rear covering remains intact, and the controls, finder, grip, film back, and major exterior panels appear complete.

The included SMC Pentax 67 45mm f/4 lens is in Excellent condition and presents well. The barrel, focus and aperture rings, filter rim, and engraved markings are notably clean, with only minimal signs of handling. The glass is clear and clean under strong-light inspection, with no fungus, haze, separation, significant internal debris, scratches, or coating damage observed. A quick test shows that focusing and aperture mechanisms operate correctly.

Overall, this is a well-used Pentax 67 II body paired with an exceptionally clean 45mm lens. Please review all photographs closely, as they show the actual camera and lens being offered and form an important part of the condition description.

The Looking Glass Take

The Pentax 67 II is the kind of camera that makes medium-format photography feel immediately familiar. Rather than adapting to a rangefinder or a modular camera with interchangeable backs and finders, you look directly through the taking lens, focus on a large screen, and operate it much like an oversized 35mm SLR.

Of course, the Pentax is not small or quiet. The body is substantial, the mirror makes its presence known, and the entire experience feels wonderfully mechanical. That is also a large part of its appeal. It is a camera that slows you down just enough while still feeling responsive and natural in the hands.

The included 45mm lens makes this an especially distinctive kit. Its wide perspective is excellent for dramatic landscapes, architecture, interiors, and environmental work where the space surrounding the subject matters. The large 6x7 negative gives those scenes the detail and tonal richness that keep photographers returning to this system decades after it was introduced.

This particular camera shows honest wear, especially around its lower edges and advance lever, but that makes it a strong choice for someone looking for a Pentax 67 II to carry and use rather than preserve untouched on a shelf.
