A compact, universal camera flash that brings more useful light to everyday photography without adding the bulk of a full-size speedlight.
The Godox iA32 combines a slim, flat body with a guide number of 15 meters at ISO 100, making it a practical companion for travel, street photography, environmental portraits, family gatherings, product photography, and cameras without a built-in flash. At approximately 117 grams, it is light enough to leave mounted on your camera or carry in a small pocket of your bag.
Its single-contact hot shoe provides broad compatibility with many film and digital cameras equipped with a standard center-contact shoe. Because the iA32 is a universal non-TTL flash, it does not communicate brand-specific exposure information with the camera. This makes it especially well suited to photographers who want a simple flash that can move between different camera systems. Compatibility can vary with certain proprietary hot-shoe designs, so confirm compatibility with your specific camera before mounting.
Direct Light or Simple Bounce Flash
A side-mounted dial lets you adjust the flash tube from -7° to 90°. Aim it forward for direct illumination, angle it slightly downward for nearby subjects, or point it upward to bounce light from a suitable ceiling for a softer, more natural result.
That adjustable design gives the iA32 more creative flexibility than a fixed-head mini flash while keeping the overall package compact and easy to carry.
Automatic or Manual Control
The iA32 offers both non-TTL Auto and Manual operating modes.
In Auto mode, enter your camera’s ISO and aperture settings and use the recommended shooting-distance range displayed on the flash. This provides an approachable way to work with cameras that do not offer modern TTL flash control. In Manual mode, output can be adjusted from 1/128 to full power in 1/3-step increments, giving more experienced photographers direct control over the amount of light added to the scene.
Use It On Camera—or as a Second Light
In addition to hot-shoe operation, the iA32 includes S1 and S2 optical triggering in Manual mode. S1 fires when it detects another flash, while S2 ignores a camera’s initial metering pre-flash and responds to the primary exposure flash. This allows the iA32 to work away from the camera as a compact accent, fill, background, or secondary light without requiring a radio trigger.
A 2.5mm sync connection also provides another option for cameras or setups that support wired flash synchronization.
Powered by Batteries You Can Find Almost Anywhere
The iA32 runs on two AA batteries, with rechargeable NiMH batteries recommended. It provides approximately 490 full-power flashes and a full-power recycling time of about 2.5 seconds, giving it practical endurance without requiring a proprietary battery or charger.
The Looking Glass Take
The iA32 fills a useful space between a tiny fixed-output flash and a full-size professional speedlight.
It is small enough to complement compact digital and film cameras, but its adjustable head, non-TTL Auto mode, full manual control, and optical triggering make it considerably more capable than its size suggests. We especially like it for older film cameras, compact mirrorless systems, everyday documentary photography, and photographers who want to begin experimenting with bounce or off-camera flash without investing in a larger lighting system.
The tradeoff for its broad compatibility is that this is not a TTL flash. You will need to enter your exposure settings in Auto mode or select the power manually. For photographers comfortable with that process—or interested in learning—it is an affordable and unusually flexible little light.
