Bright-day color with fine grain and that classic Kodak “everything looks better” ease.

Kodak Kodacolor 100 is a low-speed, daylight-balanced color negative film designed for general picture taking—especially when the light is already doing the heavy lifting. It’s described as fine-grained with saturated color, high sharpness, and wide exposure latitude, which makes it a really friendly choice for walks, travel, and portraits in bright conditions.

Why film photographers like Kodak Kodacolor 100 (35mm, 36)

  • A true bright-light film → Kodak positions it as a low-speed, daylight-balanced stock that does well in brightly lit scenes → perfect for sunny days, beach, snow, and hard midday light.

  • Fine grain with a clean, classic look → described as fine grain with high sharpness → great when you want detail without the “busy” texture of faster films.

  • Saturated color without being fussy → Kodak/Freestyle highlight saturated colors and consistent color reproduction → a dependable palette for everyday scenes and travel.

  • Wide exposure latitude for real life → noted as having wide exposure latitude and good shadow detail in bright scenes → more keepers when contrast is high.

  • Solid skin tones for people photos → Freestyle calls out flesh-tone reproduction → a nice choice when your “everyday roll” includes portraits.

  • Easy lab workflow → standard C-41 color negative film → simple to develop and scan at most labs.

Quick shooting note

This film shines when there’s plenty of light. If you’re in open shade or indoors, plan on a wider aperture, slower shutter, or adding flash.

Tradeoffs to know

ISO 100 is less forgiving when the light drops. If you want the same “Kodak everyday” vibe with more flexibility in mixed or lower light, you’ll usually be happier with an ISO 200 or 400 stock.

What’s included: 1 single roll of Kodak Kodacolor 100 color negative film, 35mm, 36 exposures; DX coded; C-41 processing.

Ideal for: travel, street in daylight, weekend life, and portraits outdoors—anytime you want crisp, colorful negatives with fine grain.

Looking Glass tip: if you’re scanning at home, a slight bias toward more light (without blowing highlights) often gives you a denser negative that scans with smoother color.
