Color shifts, happy accidents, and near-IR magic—your 35mm playground in a box.
Some days you want perfect. Other days you want pictures that feel alive—unexpected flares, dreamy pastels, retro warmth, and those “how did you do that?” moments. Let’s Get Funky is our curated 5-pack for creative play: four characterful color films and one black-and-white wild card that can go near-infrared with the right filter. Load a roll, follow the light, and let serendipity do its thing.
What’s Inside (all 35mm, 36 exposures)
- dubblefilm Pacific 200 — Cool-leaning tones and sea-glass vibes for skies, water, and road-trip scenes.
- dubblefilm Solar 400 — Warm, leak-like flares and bold contrast for neon nights and party energy.
- dubblefilm Bubblegum 200 — Playful pink/rosy cast and soft pastels that make portraits and still lifes pop.
- HARMAN Phoenix II 200 — Punchy, characterful color with a distinctly analog feel—great everyday wild card.
- Ilford SFX 200 (B&W) — Extended red sensitivity; with a deep red or IR filter you’ll get inky skies and glowing foliage.
- Exclusive Quick-Start Guide (print insert, 1 page) — per-film ISO targets, filter guide for SFX, exposure recipes, creative prompts, and lab scan notes. A Looking Glass original to help you get great results on roll one.
Why This Pack Hits Different
- Curated for play: five distinct looks chosen to push your vision in new directions.
- One-click convenience: no guesswork—just load, shoot, and see where it takes you.
- Perfect for zines & parties: bold color, surprising frames, and a little bit of chaos (the fun kind).
- Mixed processing: color films = C-41; SFX 200 is standard B&W.
How to Shoot (Quick Tips)
- Favor light: these stocks love daylight and clean, strong light sources.
- Overexpose a touch: try +1/3 to +2/3 stop for smoother tones and friendlier scans (especially Solar/Bubblegum).
- Backlight = magic: lean into backlight for flares and glow (Solar, Bubblegum).
- SFX 200 tricks: shoot at box speed without filters, or use a deep red (25/29) for dramatic skies; an IR (R72-type)filter pushes the look further—expect longer exposures and bring a tripod.
- Scanning note: ask your lab for “neutral/flat” scans to keep edit latitude.
Good to Know
- Format/ISO: 35mm; ISO 200–400 across the pack.
- Processing: C-41 for Pacific, Solar, Bubblegum, Phoenix II; B&W process for SFX 200.
- Expect variation: creative films can differ roll-to-roll—embrace the surprise.
Who It’s For
Curious beginners ready to experiment, zine makers and street shooters who like punchy color, party cameras, and anyone chasing a spark when the “perfect” look feels a little too… predictable.
Pairs Well With
A simple point-and-shoot or compact SLR, a deep red or IR filter for SFX 200 (plus tripod), a circular polarizer for skies/water, archival sleeves, and a film case for your kit.
