Overview

The Peak Design Cuff Rope is a minimalist wrist strap designed to keep your camera secure without weighing you down. Its padded, basket-woven rope construction combines the comfortable feel of cord with Peak Design’s quick-release Anchor system, making the strap easy to attach when you need it and remove when you don’t.

The Ocean color adds a rich blue finish that feels distinctive without overwhelming the camera—a good choice for photographers who want something more expressive than black while retaining a clean, understated look.

What It Does Well

Cuff Rope provides a secure connection between your wrist and camera while remaining compact enough to slip easily into a pocket or camera bag. The rope is made from a strong blend of nylon and polyester, with a slight stretch and padded construction that helps it sit comfortably against the wrist.

If the camera slips from your hand, the nylon adjuster automatically cinches the loop more tightly around your wrist. An anodized aluminum stopper lets you set the loop size for a comfortable fit.

Peak Design’s Anchor Link system makes it easy to disconnect the strap when placing the camera on a tripod, packing it into a bag, or switching to another carrying system. Each Anchor withstands more than 200 pounds of force, while the complete strap is rated to support 180 pounds.

The Ocean color is especially good—deep enough to remain practical, but more interesting than the usual black camera accessory. Compared with Cuff Leather, this version is better suited to wet weather, frequent travel, and harder everyday use. Compared with the original flat Cuff, it is slightly less compact but arguably more comfortable. The choice mostly comes down to whether you prefer the clean simplicity of webbing or the softer feel and visual character of rope.
